GALENA PARK — Monday April 2, 2018, the Galena Park police dispatcher received a 9-1-1 call at 10 pm of a shooting in the 1500 block of 3rd Street.
According to Detective Jessica Bolanos, when the police arrived they discovered inside a home two shooting victims. Detective Bolanos said a 42 year old male identified as John Meyers had been shot multiple times and was dead at the scene. Another male victim shot multiple times was identified as Justin Boon, age 27. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital and is listed in critical condition. The victims are father-in-law and son-in-law related.
The Harris County Sheriff Department’s crime scene investigation unit arrived at the scene and gathered evidence.
Sheriff’s Department Investigators will pursue the case seeking the murderer. At this time, a motive and an ID are not known. Police Chief Rick Gonzales and Detective Jessica Bolanos are asking for anyone with information to call them at 713675-3471.
