The North Shore Rotary Club, with about 60 members, continues to be a driving force in the Community for projects of benefit to various other organizations and individuals.

Examples of this in recent months include donations to the Cody Stephens Foundation of $6500 for prescreening of high school athletes for heart defects; to the VA Hospital $1200; to the San Jacinto College MECA scholarship programs $11,000; to Pct. 2 for a new pedestrian bridge in North Shore Park, $40,000; to the Galena Park Education Foundation, $8600; to the Galena Park FFA for livestock purchases; to the Pilot Club $2000 for their luncheon; and much more.

In a recent visit from the District Governor Bob Gebhard, the club was cited for extensive giving to the national Rotary Foundation. He said that since its inception, the club has donated $580,000 to the Foundation. The foundation has a unique program wherein the donated money after three years is returned to the local club, for projects of their choosing.
