Jacinto City had scheduled a municipal election for May 9, to elect a Mayor and two council persons. However, according to City Secretary Joyce Raines, no candidates filed to oppose the incumbents, as as per Texas law the election has been cancelled, and the current office holders will be declared elected, as follows:
Mayor: Ana Diaz
Council Member Position No. 4, Carmela Garcia
Council Member Position No. 5, Mario Gonzales.
City Council will vote on an Ordinance to this effect, on March 12 and 26th.
