King Davis was named the new superintendent of Sheldon I.S.D. at the December 15, 2015 board meeting. He will succeed Interim Superintendent, John Kirchner.

Davis was chosen through a rigorous selection and interview process by the Sheldon Board of Trustees, and ultimately named the lone finalist during the November board meeting.

“First and foremost, I’d like to thank the board again for their vote of confidence,” Davis said. “Now it’s official and I’m certainly ready to get to work and take Sheldon I.S.D. to the next level.”

Davis is coming from Everman I.S.D. in Everman, TX, where he currently serves as the Deputy Superintendent of Operations and Student Services.

“Obviously there are some great things that have taken place prior to me, so I must give credit to the board and the previous administration, but there’s always room for improvement,” Davis said. “That’s what we’ll really work closely together on. We’ll make some improvements, celebrate the successes we’ve had and move things forward.”

Davis will begin on January 4, 2016.
