Eric Evans named CEO of East Houston Regional Medical Center

Houston, Texas, Feb. 27, 2017 — HCA Gulf Coast Division President Troy Villarreal today announced that Eric Evans has been named chief executive officer of East Houston Regional Medical Center, replacing Alice Adams, who retired in December 2016.

Evans was previously senior vice president of strategic planning for the HCA Gulf Coast Division, where he focused on the development, implementation and management of the division’s overall strategy, as well as the exploration and development of new opportunities across the continuum of care.

“Eric has shown his ability to work with leaders across the division to ensure optimal collaboration, coordination and communication,” said Villarreal. “I know he will take his extraordinary talent for management and effective communication and put it to great use at East Houston Regional Medical Center. I look forward to seeing how he steers the facility.”

Evans, who began his career at HCA in 1996, has also served as chief operating officer of The Woman’s Hospital of Texas. Prior to joining The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, he was the chief operating officer of Lakeview Regional Medical Center in New Orleans.

Evans holds a master’s degree in health services administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a bachelor of science in business administration from The University of Texas at Dallas. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Board Member of the American Leadership Forum.
