The Channelview Falcon Boys Soccer Team completed its best season in the history of the program finishing as Region 3 Finalists.

Last weekend at Deer Park’s Abshier Stadium, the Falcons outlasted CyRidge in a 6-5 shootout in the Regional Semi-Final game. Channelview then faced a down to the wire fight in its Regional Final match with Pasadena Dobie. After regulation play and two overtimes ended in a 2-2 tie, the Falcons season ended in 7-6 shootout.

The Falcons can take pride in their best season in the history of the program with a 21-2-5 overall record and finishing among the state’s “elite eight” teams.

“I am very proud of everything this team has accomplished,” Channelview head coach Carlos Galuppo said. “To get this deep into the playoffs, you have to beat the best of the best – and we met the challenge. Finishing among the top teams says so much about the hard work and dedication of our guys.”

Channelview finished league play as District 216A Runner-Up, then defeated Deer Park in the Bi-District Round of the playoffs. The Falcons beat Alief Hastings in the Area Round and C.E. King in the Quarterfinals before their final two matchups.
