Friday, October 19, 2018 – Baytown, TX – At the Goose Creek ISD Stallworth Stadium, the North Shore Mustangs scored 5 touchdowns in the first quarter. By the end of the game they had made 9 touchdowns. Kicker John Villalobos made all 9 extra point kicks. To keep from being shut-out the Sterling Rangers kicked a field goal, the final score was 63 to 3.

The undefeated 7-0 Mustangs have only had one serious challenge this season when they opened the season 7 weeks ago by beating the Katy Tigers 35 to 21.

North Shore and the Beaumont West Brook Bruins are tied for first place with 4 wins each in District 21 – 6-A Region III. In order to reach the playoffs Coach Jon Kay’s Mustangs must pull off a win against the visiting Bruins Friday, October 26th.

With the district title on the line, North Shore must contain the Bruins 6’1″ senior quarterback L’Ravien Elia. As a junior, he has amassed over 2,000 offensive yards with 27 touchdowns in just 9 games. As a senior, he has gotten better. Elia’s dual pass and run threat will put the Mustangs pass defenders to a test. They’ll play a big role in the outcome of the game, along with the pass rushers.
