Jacinto City’s Heritage Hall celebrates grandparents day

Jacinto City Heritage Hall – Friday, September 7, 2019 – Elizabeth Flores the Director of Senior Services and her staff prepared a Grandparents Day Celebration Breakfast for over a hundred senior citizens.

In 1978, President Jimmy Carter declared the first Sunday after Labor Day to be National Grandparents Day. Grandparents Day has an official flower, the flower is the forget-me-not.

Preparing the breakfast with Director Flores was staffer’s Maria Espinoza, Debbie Martinez and volunteer Lucy Lopez. Linda Jamail, Community Liaison with State Rep. Ana Hernandez office gave the seniors bags of roasted peanuts and candy.

The annual breakfast was eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast, jelly, coffee, juice and milk.

After the breakfast Heritage Hall member Alfredo Jasso stated to the staff their gratitude and appreciation. Jasso said, “The staff here always goes out of their way to help us and do kind things for us. We really appreciate everything you do to make our lives better.”
