CHANNELVIEW – JACINTO CITY, TX – August 28, 2019 – Commissioner Adrian Garcia is proud to announce that construction will begin on a new BetterStreets2Neighborhoods (BS2N) project in the Channelview and Jacinto City areas in September. BS2N is a Precinct 2 program dedicated to preserving asphalt roadways by conducting base repairs, asphalt milling and overlay, as well as roadway button and striping replacement.
This $1.8 million project will repair nearly 5 miles of roadway, including Lane Street, Hart Street, Mercury Drive, and Dell Dale Street among many others. Roadwork may impact on-street parking in some areas, so residents should be mindful of notifications from the contractors. Drivers are also encouraged to travel through the construction zones with caution. Construction is expected to be complete later this year.
