Commander C. T. Hatcher, Houston Police Department Northeast Division, gave the August Northeast District 9 crime report. She said overall crime in the area is about the same now as it was in 2018. For a current crime report for any area visit the website:

Hatcher made available several helpful websites citizens can use to reduce crime in their neighborhoods. By using HPD’s, ALERT SLIP. Citizens can use it to request increased patrols around their home or business for a prowler, speeding vehicle, excessive burglaries and thefts, being on vacation, or for reasons causing them concern in the “other” box. HPD’s Online Police Report Form

The purpose of this form is to allow Houston citizens to conveniently file police reports from home, work, or anywhere with internet access. After completing the necessary information you will receive an actual incident number, and you will be able to print the report for your records.

Other Community business was Maria Pillar Aponte an engineer with the Texas Department of Transportation said progress is being made on the new sidewalk project north of IH 10 East Freeway from Normandy Street going west along the feeder to Maxey Road (FM 526) and then going north up past Woodforest Blvd. to Nola Court.
