GALENA PARK, Texas –– Last Monday Galena Park Mayor Esmeralda Moya, along with other community leaders distributed free fresh food and masks to the residents.

“My heartfelt thanks to the more than 480 lovely people who participated in our Food and Masks Curbside Distribution yesterday afternoon. I was blessed to see the goodness, resilience, and hope of the people of Galena Park. We witnessed what’s possible when we come together as one and help our brothers and sisters in these challenging times.

“My gratitude to Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia, Senator Carol Alvarado, Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia, Plumbers Local Union 68 Rick Lord, The Committee for a Better Galena Park, Houston Food Bank, Valero Energy Corporation and to the most talented, tireless, and mission-driven employees who have given of themselves for the betterment of others. God bless you all and, may God continue to bless our beloved city of Galena Park,” Mayor Moya posted on the City’s facebook page.

The City distributed more masks on May 4 and there was another fresh food and mask curbside distribution on April 29, 2020.
