Houston, TX. October 5, 2021- The National Night Out event was well attended by the community and elected officials.

Some of the attendees were Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia, State Representative Ana Hernandez, and HCC Trustee Eva Longoria. Senator Carol Alvarado was represented by Sergio Hernandez – District Liaison. Chief of Staff Joaquin Martinez represented Councilman Robert Gallegos. And deputies with Constable Jerry Garcia’s office were present.

Houston, TX — October 1, 2021 — GPISD Stadium — Head Coach Jon Kay, with his experienced assistant coaches, led the Mustangs football team to their second consecutive district win, besting the Humble Wildcats 68-6 with 10 touchdowns (TDs).

Kay’s offensive team’s passing game is showing an improvement. Junior quarterback Wyndell Mitchell completed 70 percent of his passes for 158 yards (yds), but the running game continues to be the strength for his offense, making 433 yds and 9 TDs combining for 591 yds.

The Eastside Boys’ defense shutdown Humble’s offense, holding them to only 58 total yds in the game. Junior defensive back Jacoby Davis intercepted a Wildcat pass for a TD. The Wildcats lone score came from a blocked punt return for a TD.

Arrests made in two Uvalde murder cases

Arrest in runover death at McDonald’s

HOUSTON – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a 71-year-old woman who was robbed and run over at a McDonald’s on Uvalde Road in east Harris County. On Sept. 23, deputies said Martha Medina was run over and killed after being robbed at a McDonald’s restaurant located at 430 Uvalde.

Andrew Williams, 40, has been charged with capital murder. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Williams was arrested Tuesday and taken to the Harris County jail. Sheriff Gonzalez said Williams was out on bond in connection to a previous capital murder when Medina was killed.
