HOUSTON – Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan announced today that the new voter registration certificates are in the mail and reminds voters to review their information.
“My office has begun mailing voter registration certificates to 1,876,539 registered voters,” said Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan. “The new voter registration certificates, which will be light orange in color, are expected to hit all mailboxes by the end of next week. It will reflect the voter’s current name and address, just as it appears in the poll book when they go to vote.”
New voter registration certificates are mailed out every two years and it gives the public the opportunity to review their information and update it. The most common reasons voters need to update their voter registration are:
- Name Changes – due to marriage or divorce
- Moving to a different residence
- Deceased individual that was not reported
“Updating your information has never been easier with my office,” said Mr. Sullivan.
“Just visit www.hctax.net, go to the Voter Registration tab and click on Name/Address Change link. We want to make it as easy as possible to update your information right from our optimized website.”

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan also serves as the Harris County Voter Registrar, which conducts voter registration activities and maintains a certified list of registered voters.
