Free inoculations for school-aged kids

HOUSTON – Congressman Gene Green invites students and families to kick off the new school year with a discussion about children’s health and free immunizations.

Services will be available for school-aged children in the 29th Congressional District at Oleson Elementary, J.R. Harris Elementary, and North Shore Ninth Grade Campus.

“This event helps raise awareness about children’s health issues, and gets children started out on the right foot for the upcoming school year,” Green said. “We like to see healthy and happy kids.”

Green said that last year, over 3000 kids received their free shots in the Galena Park school district alone.

The event takes place this Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the following locations:

  • North Shore Ninth Grade Campus, Galena Park ISD13501 Holly Park Drive, Houston, Texas 77015
  • Oleson Elementary School, Aldine ISD, 12345 Vickery Street, Houston, Texas 77039
  • J.R. Harris Elementary School, Houston ISD801 Broadway Street, Houston, Texas 77012

Families are invited to join a discussion about health and receive free immunizations for children. Parents must bring a copy of their child’s immunization records. Congressman Green thanked the following groups and organizations for helping make this event a success: Harris Health System, Texas Children’s Hospital Mobile Clinic Outreach Program, Aldine Health Center, Aldine Independent School District, Galena Park Independent School District, Houston Independent School District, LyondellBasell, and Rotary International District 5890.
