JACINTO CITY – Police were called to a home in the 11000 block of Verano Street last Thursday, July 12th at about 1:30 pm. What at first seemed like a missing child report on two grandchildren, called in by a frantic grandmother, developed soon into a much more horrendous crime.
At 2:20 pm a shooting was heard in the 14000 block of Edgeboro Street in the Sheldon area, near the intersection of old US90 and Beltway 8.
At that location, authorities discovered the bodies of the two missing children, Phillip Bernal, 12, and Sarah Wolfe, 8. They were in the back yard of a family home. Also in the yard was the body of the father, Cimarron Wolfe, 38, who was dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.
Harris County Sheriff ’s investigators reported that the father had shot and killed the two children before killing himself. They said that the apparent motive was a domestic argument in the family. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said “It’s definitely a dark day here in Harris County, another situation of family violence. This happens too often and it’s very sad and unfortunate.”
