Galena Park, TX. – Tuesday, July 4, 2017 about three thousand citizens gather behind the city’s swimming pool to celebrate the second annual festival sponsored by the Committee For A Better Galena Park, citizens and businesses.

Mayor Esmeralda Moya and the city’s commissioners were present to greet the celebrators.

Citizens enjoyed bar-b-q and all types of grilled foods prepared by various individuals and businesses.

Activities included a petting zoo, 65 foot obstacle course, climbing wall, moon walks, bounce houses and water slides. The city’s swimming pool was at its capacity with free swimming causing lifeguards to be very watchful.

Several bands and entertainers provided music throughout the day and night; one group Rayito y su Sentimiento Norteno music.

The police and fire department had a central location in case of an emergency.
