Galena Park, TX. — April 17, 2018 — At the City Council meeting Galena Park Police Chief Rick Gonzales presented Detective Jessica Bolanos for her investigation and arrest of a child molester.

Chief Gonzales said, “I am happy to recognize Officer Jessica Bolanos as the Officer of the First Quarter award of 2018 for her outstanding service and commitment to the City of Galena Park.”

On February 25, 2018, a female child called the police whispering for help. Bolanos arrived at the child’s home and upon her investigation she discovered it was alleged the father had been sexually molesting the juvenile for a long period of time.

Officer Bolanos took the juvenile complainant to the Texas Children’s Hospital for a medical examination, and after completing the investigation, Bolanos arrested and charged the father for Sexual Assault of a Child.

Detective Bolanos said, “I appreciate the award and recognition, but mostly the opportunity to serve and do well for the city and our community. It’s being able to help people that truly makes this career meaningful.”
